If Vanilla Ice came on the scene in 2005, wouldn't he still be selling millions today?

Artists like Blink 182, Avril Lavigne, and Taylor Swift are less deserving of record contracts than Vanilla Ice was, yet their longevity has surpassed the Iceman. It makes me think that if Vanilla Ice released music in 2005 that sold, he'd be making music today and collaborating with somebody like Drake.
