Need opinions and advice about singing....answers please?

i'd really want to be a singer and get lessons, or a dancer and go to dance classes but every time i look something up its like "yeah they start off young around 5-to early teenage years" or i always hear about famous people or people who are aspiring artist always say "yeah i knew i had it. i started at 3" and im like "wow wtf am i too old to start off!?!?" i mean i've been dancing since i was little, but that was always just free style dancing that i enjoy doing when the music is right. i mean im 16 (i'll be 17 later in the year) and i feel like the things i want to do, im already behind...advice? plus i already hate public speaking and stuff like that...so yeah...that part sucks
